  • Passed my PhD Qualifying Exam

I am extremely proud and happy finishing my second year of my PhD passing my PhD qualifying exam. For my qualifying exam, I presented my research on “Effect of Adaptation Rate and Cost Display in a Human-AI Interaction Game.” I would like to thank my qualifying exam committee members Maryam Fazel, Amy Orsborn, and Kim Ingraham for their helpful comments and notes for improvement. I would also like to thank my advisors Samuel Burden and Lillian Ratliff, my collaborator Benjamin Chasnov, and my undergraduate researchers Bohan Wu, Qirui Wang, and Yilin Zhang. I would not be able to produce the same level of research without these individuals and I want to thank them for helping me further develop and improve as a PhD student and researcher.

  • Started my PhD program at UW

I started my PhD program in Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle. I am currently being co-advised by Professor Sam Burden and Professor Lillian Ratliff. My current research is at the intersection of control theory and game theory in the context of human-machine interaction and design.

  • UC San Diego Undergraduate Graduation

I graduated with my undergraduate degree from UC San Diego with a BS in Electrical Engineering, a BS in Management Science, minor in Mathematics, and minor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation.

I started at UC San Diego in the summer of 2018 in the Summer Engineering Institute (SEI). Here I became an IDEA Scholar and later worked for the IDEA Engineering Student Center as a Peer Facilitator (PF) for SEI 2019, Lead PF for Summer Prep 2020 and SEI 2021, Program Assistant for the Jacobs School of Engineering: Engineering Overnight Program 2021 and 2022. I also did undergraduate research with the Laboratory for Intelligent & Safe Vehicles (LISA) during Spring 2021 to Summer 2022 and the Atkinson Behavioral Research Lab during Fall 2021 to Spring 2022.

In my free time, I was involved in the Korean American Student Association (KASA) as a student leader, KASA Freshman Dance-Off Team, Division 12 Dance Team, Koalition Dance Team, co-founder of Mosaic-CollabArt, and volunteered on the IDEA Scholar Social Committee.

This summer I am excited to start my PhD program in Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle.
